My students need charts on the male and female reproductive systems, a teen pregnancy flip chart, and a CD-rom containing the facts about STDs.

I teach health education to kids in grades 6th-8th. The kids at my school come from low income families. The students at my school are very intelligent, motivated, and want to have a bright and healthy future.

From looking at the statistics from the local health department, the community I teach in has very high HIV, herpes, HPV, and teen pregnancy rates.

To deal with this situation I intend on giving the students in-depth information so they can make wise decisions about their sexual practices. The items being requested would help educate and motivate the students, at a pivotal age, which would help increase higher abstinence rates.

The spreading of STDs and teen pregnancy rates are problems that are plaguing not just the community I teach in, but the whole United States. I want to make a difference in these adolescents lives but I can not do it by myself. Due to lack of funding, and lack of resources teaching a successful sex education curriculum can be difficult. With the help of donors, you can help make a difference in the health and quality life of hundreds of students.
