Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My at-risk students need you to help them stay healthy. I am the physical education teacher in a Maryland public school that is trying to help reverse the trend of childhood obesity. My kids are K - 5th grades, and the time to teach them healthy living & eating habits is now.

70% of our students are on the free lunch program, and trends show that childhood obesity is most prevalent in low-income households. Help me get our at-risk students on the right track to health & nutrition!

We need exercise videos that we can perform in class, fun nutritional learning materials & games from which I can create a curriculum. I believe health is a learned behavior, and want my students to think of my lessons & curriculum whenever they go to put food into their mouths.

These kids need support, but most of all we need the tools to help get them on the right track. Let's teach them good health & nutrition habits now!
