Technology Tools for Bilingual Students

My students need speakers for use with our document camera, 3 printer cartridge packs for photos and reports, and an electric stapler for a quick way to bind books.

I teach 2nd and 3rd grade bilingual students who are new to the country this year and attend a school with 85% free and reduced lunch in an urban setting.

We were provided a wonderful document camera this year. It enables us to take pictures of items, create slide shows, presentations,etc. However, it did not come with speakers. In the past, I have created a slide show, but was unable to play music or student voices along with it because of the absence of speakers. We do many projects that require us to print photos and writings as well. I am currently on my last printer cartridge and they are very expensive! Additionally, students often make their writings into books and it has been difficult to bind them by hand.

If I could get the above mentioned supplies, this process would be flawless! The speakers would really benefit us, especially during parent nights, when students like to "show-off" their work that they have done with a slide show presentation. If it was set to music or student voices, it would make more of an impact! Having a supply of printer cartridges will keep all of our activities running smoothly at all times. Our activities won't be interrupted because our printer is out of ink. Lastly, having an electric stapler will be so helpful when the students create their own books. Because it is more powerful than a regular stapler, we will be able to staple through a thicker book or stack of papers.

Your help will ensure my students that they can be proud to "show-off" on parent nights with their new speakers. Parent nights will never be the same! With the use of the printer cartridges and electric stapler, our class activities will run smoothly all year long and for years to come! No interruptions!
