Making Podcasts and Movies in the Classroom

Wouldn't it be great if students could make a movie or recording of an historical event rather than just read and write about it?

We do not have the technology available to our students that can help them have an advantage when they get out into the work field. They are very interested in history and reporting about it, but would love to use new ways to share with their peers.

By having a digital camera, microphone and speakers that can be hooked up to our class computer, a whole new world of reporting can be available! We can make movies about the Revolutionary War, a talk show discussing the sides of the Civil War, or a slide show describing a great book that's been read. Using technology to find new ways of learning and reporting is exactly what our kids need to motivate them to learn more!

With your support, our students will learn what can be done with the technology that's available. That knowledge will help them improve their skills for the workplace. You can make a difference in our learning environment and the students' future.
