I teach in an under funded inner city public school. We have almost no supplies and desperately need books.

This year we have been studying revolution, counter revolution, and anti-colonialism. My students are deeply interested in African history and would love to read a novel with a main character from Africa.

I need a classroom set of the novel Purple Hibiscus by the Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Purple Hibiscus is a compelling story of a young woman coming to age in Nigeria during a coup.

My students love to read, but rarely get their own copies of the book to read at home. Please help buy these books and to raise the literacy level of inner city youth.
