I teach eleventh grade students in a very rural community. We have no industry, therefore all school taxes are paid by landowners.

I teach students with special needs included with the average population at our school. Graphing calculators allow all students to achieve at high levels. Our state has introduced a law that ALL students must pass a state test in order to graduate high school. My students must be able to pass this test by the year 2014.

Technology is invented to help us with our difficulties. Graphing calculators will give my students the advantage they need to pass these difficult tests. Our PTA purchased 30 calculators before this year and the students were ecstatic after the test. They were so excited and felt they passed the test due, in part, to the calculators. However, not all students will have a graphing calculator next year. I need to purchase 5 more calculators for next years class.

Our students will be able to take these calculators each day to help with homework and out of class assignments. My students will be able to take pride from the successes they will achieve
