Ready, Set, LEARN!! That is what this grant is all about. I teach 5th grade Math & Science to a community that is considered high- need. We also have a large percentage of special needs students at our school (over 30 %). This grant is an extension of a Donorschoose grant that is already in place. We are trying to improve it and make it better for our students who are getting so much out of Ready, Set, GROW!

This grant is a request to improve a Donorschoose grant that we were awarded at the beginning of this school year. Ready, Set, GROW! is in full swing and we have already harvested a Fall crop and we will be harvesting our Spring crop in about 4 weeks. We have already had one produce sale with our Fall crop and we sold those at a school wide Braveheart Crop Bash! The money we made bought our seeds so that we could plant our Spring crop. Due to the overwhelming generosity of Donorschoose and our donor we have so many materials but our dilemma is..... we don't' have anywhere to store them! We are in desperate need of a storage shed to keep our tiller, shovels, fertilizers, and all other equipment in and out of our crazy Louisiana weather. Please consider adding to this already wonderful Donorschoose project. My students have learned so much from this grant and it will keep on giving each and every school year to thousands of students. Please consider donating this so that we can keep Ready, Set, GROW!!!!!!!! alive and well at our school! Thank you.

The only resource we need to keep this grant going at our school is a storage shed to house all of our equipment and garden materials. In Louisiana we have extremely crazy weather and our tiller, fertilizer, etc... needs to have a home so that it doesn't rust and so we can preserve the equipment and materials given to us by our first Donorschoose grant.

Your help will ensure that my students for many years to come will be able to enjoy and learn from this project. If we aren't' able to take proper care of our equipment and materials then this project will not flourish for as many years as I would like. We have already harvested one crop and are about to harvest our Spring crop. We love this project and want to keep it alive!!!!
