I am the elementary music teacher for grades K-6 in a low-economic, high poverty rural community in southern Illinois.

My students love performance days and with the right equipment they could truly shine! My goal for the my students is to give them opportunities to perform as well as develop their talents and leadership. We often have a performance day when the students can perform for their class. A karaoke machine in which they could hear their voice, use real sound equipment and follow the lyrics in a melody line would really move us forward and excite the students. We could also use this for whole class sing-a-longs to save paper!!! This sound system would also be of benefit to the whole school for assemblies.

A karaoke machine with a sound system would not only increase our music abilities but be an additional reading tool, which is a focal point for our school. My classroom would need a television to view the lyrics on.

You will bring enthusiasm, technology and fun to a music program that promotes reading as well as music!
