Poets And They Don't Know It...Yet!

My students need a 3-Hole Punch, a set of Shel Silverstein Poetry w/ CDs, and a Paperback Poetry Library.

I teach first grade to 24 eager learners in Chicago. They have recently fallen in love with poetry.

After completing several activities during National Poetry Month, I have found that my students absolutely LOVE poetry. Unfortunately, my classroom lacks the necessary materials for my students to quench their poetry thirst.

Poetry books and Cd's will provide my students with visual and auditory poetry opportunities. I would like to begin a collection of poetry books for my classroom library so the children can have poetry at their fingertips all year round. I would also like for each student to have their own poetry binder. An electric hole puncher would allow me to type poems, hole punch them, and then each student would be able to store their poetry collection in a binder.

You will make it possible for my students to have continued exposure to poetry while allowing for valuable rhyming, reading and fluency practice all while having fun!
