I teach the Advanced and Gifted Students in a Title-one School. The students in this program have few resources to help them achieve at an advanced level.

Recently my students have shown a great interest in The Ancient gods of Greece. Using a modern writing of ancient gods, and then comparing this to the actual mythology will broaden their understanding in a fun way.

The resources needed are the books The Lightening Thief and Tales of Ancient Greece. It will benefit my students, that they can read a book that is an award book then pair it with a book on mythology. They will have a better understanding of mythology as they read the modern version of the Greek gods.

You will make it possible for my students to learn how to compare and contrast and to visualize the topic in two different genres.
