I teach a self-contained third grade class of 20 students in a rural town with a population of about 3,300 citizens.

My school is in the process of adapting to the new RTI rules in our state and we are not able to fund all the needs for each classroom. Also, I am a third year teacher and have not been able to purchase all the materials that a veteran teacher might have.

My classroom is in need of a wide range of reading level books so that all students will be able to succeed in their reading level. I will, also, need a storage system that will allow me to sort these books into the different levels in my classroom. I feel a writing/reading center is vital in helping the students work with words, do words studies, participate in reading centers, etc. My classroom will benefit from the different phonics materials allowing the students to work on the problem areas that slows them down.

Your help will allow my students to improve upon their reading levels and to become the readers that we want them to be. Your help will make it possible for me, the teacher, to come up with a variety of lessons that will help my students to become better readers and to improve their reading levels.
