Learning Disabled Students Need Calculators

My students need 20 scientific calculators with step by step instructions on how to use them.

6th grade learning disabled students who want to learn how to do math like the other kids.

These are students who can not memorize basic mathematic facts but, with the right tools, can still solve 6th grade math problems when they are shown how.

Given calculators designed for middle school students that include fraction, geometry and algebraic functions would make their 6th grade school experience more successful, memorable and rewarding.

Many, if not most, of these students begin to think about dropping out when they reach middle school because they are having an extremely hard time meeting with success. Enabling these students to meet with even a little bit of success will motivate them to want to stay in school.
