Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach in a PreK/Kindergarten classroom. One of the favorite centers is the Home Living Center.

Our present kitchen needs a remodel! We use a box above some wooden shelving for pretend cabinets, the wooden stove is very worn and wobbly, the dishes are ones I pick up inexpensively at discount stores and the pretend food is discolored from use and does not resemble healthy food choices.

The new pretend kitchen, dishes and food I have requested would create a wonderful, safe area for children to explore their creative play and enhance their knowledge of home living skills.

To have this "kitchen remodel" would bring joy to my students, many of which do not have all the modern conveniences in their homes. It would be a great investment in helping enrich young minds, in addition to bringing lots of smiles and hours of fun.
