I have 22 Kindergarten students who would like to learn how to write the letters correctly.

Writing has become a big part of our Kindergarten day. Last year, we used the program Handwriting Without Tears to teach letter formation to our students; however between three kindergarten classes, we’d have to share two sets of materials between three classes.

My students need the slates, erasers and chalk at different times during the day to practice writing. I have to make arrangements with the other teachers to see when we can use them. My students have the need to use them throughout the day.

Using real slates and chalk will help my students with orientation in forming the letters top-to-bottom, and left-to-right. The tactile slates and chalk help prepare the children for pencil and paper. I would like to have 24 slates, erasers and chalk for my class. Presently I have 22 students on my roster, plus two special ed. students who come to my classroom from time to time. Thank you for your consideration, as your contribution will be greatly appreciated and a valuable learning tool for my students.
