Hello, I am a sixth grade teacher looking to expand our current science program to include numerous hands-on science activities for the students during our Elementary Science Olympiad Program for fifth and sixth grade students.

The Science Olympiad program is a great real-world application of science concepts taught throughout the school year to the students. However, due to the cost of a lot of the equipment to make the event more relevant and meaningful to the students, it is very hard to purchase the materials needed. Over the past two years, I have worked on improving the school's Science Olympiad. Each year, the event continues to grow and the students truly enjoy themselves and look forward to this event all year long.

By receiving the compasses and the measuring wheels, the students will be able to complete an orienteering event during the Science Olympiad. This event will allow students to not only practice reading a compass and measurement, but the students will learn handy map reading skills.

With your support, the Elementary Science Olympiad program at my school will continue to grow and be more meaningful to the students. This event strives on volunteers and support from outside agencies since the school district does not have the funding to purchase the needed materials.
