Music is an everyday part of our culture and society. Students are not actively engaged in listening. Through the use of iPods and headphones, students will work together to really discover music from all eras and cultures.
My students are Kindergarten through Fourth Grade students from a low socio-economic environment.
They often get themselves to school each day without the help of parents. These are good kids who want to work hard and enjoy being in school. They truly enjoy learning and making music.
My Project
With the help of your support, these iPods will be invaluable to my students. They will begin to focus on listening skills and dig deeper into the music we are studying by being able to listen to it in smaller groups and host discussions among their peers.
Through your donation, my students lives will become enriched with exposure to new technology.
Music has been around as long as humans have and for my students to discover music (something so old) on iPods (something so new) is really cool!
