My Students

Image students being asked to conduct a research project, write up the results, and type up the results and not being able to keep a copy for yourself. My students really want printed copy of their hard work. Without the use of a classroom printer my students can't have their own typed version.

My students are 3rd graders who love to learn new things.

I teach skills needed for Math, Science, and Social Studies. Throughout our study of skills I incorporate necessary life/career skills, such as research and writing skills, into lessons. This becomes tricky sometimes because our school has a portable lab but not a portable printer. My students need to be able to print papers/projects that they have worked hard on and completed.

My Project

If my classroom had a printer my students could use it to print themselves a copy of their paper/project. Students could print papers completed throughout the year and keep them in a notebook, allowing them to see the progression in their writing ability throughout the year. Also, if my classroom had a printer I would be able to make and print hands-on learning games for students to use during our study.

Having a printer donated to my classroom would be awesome.

Having the ability to make/print hands-on learning games would make learning and practice fun for my students. I strongly believe that students learn best by learning hands-on.
