My Students

Students need concrete hands on experience with real life objects in order for it to become REAL in their own minds.

Second grade students are faced with a variety of complex science concepts to learn.

However, they are having a hard time deeply understanding and making sense of many foundational science concepts. I want them to walk away with a meaningful experience that will impact their future.

My Project

Students will use the Little Bits Electronics Kit along with recycled materials to create an automatic pet feeder, make their cardboard creations come to life, and design a backpack alarm system. Students will present their projects during a maker faire that will take place at the school in May.

Students will use technology, circuits in particular, to solve real world problems that are important and meaningful to them.

They will create a project they can be proud of and it will enable students who are not always successful academically to be successful in other important and valuable ways.
