Sharing our artwork with the world! My students are hoping to share their wonderful works of art - created throughout the school year - with the world! We are two suburban schools with 600+ creative and visual learners. This sharing will allow our parents, friends and the world to view and purchase merchandises with our artwork displayed on them. As a teacher of the visual arts at these two Rhode Island elementary schools that accommodates Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 6, I have witness the district going through financial hardship for the past two years, which has lead to cuts in Art supplies, visual resources and staffing. Through the use of our website we hope to raise funds that will allow our schools to continue it’s strong visual arts program at the elementary level. I am hoping to purchase a digital camera and a digital card for each of my schools. With the help of students, parents and myself, photos would be taken of the students’ artwork throughout the school year and be uploaded to our website. This will allow parents, teachers, and the friends to view the students work on the Internet and allow for them to purchase merchandises with the child’s art on it! Students will be encouraged and enthusiastic to see their art works are displayed on things other than paper! It is with hope that this project will be a continuous idea that will carry the art programs at both schools through the years to come!
