Pa Rum Pa Pum Pum, We Need a New Bass Drum

My students need a bass drum to provide the "heart beat" of our band music.

Due to our school's low income population- most of the students in my elementary instrumental program depend on me to loan them one of the very few school instruments available. Most of my instruments have been donated by the community, purchased by the school district or I have purchased them with my own money. There are instrument rental programs available through local stores, but not for the bass drum.

Our band rehearses once a week but the only bass drum we have is older than most of our teachers and sounds horrible. I believe it may be from the high school's marching band in the 60's. I've even contemplated using a chair- it might give us a better sound! :-)

If we could simply get a new bass drum my kids would be so proud of the sounds our band could produce. They are such wonderful, deserving kids...I'd really like them to have a chance at hearing what good music sounds like.

Please help me share my love of music with my students. Offer them the chance to have their music heard and let them be proud! We would be so grateful for your help.
