I teach a small math class to special education students. I also co-teach in general education classrooms. The students love Brain POP. I use it to introduce new skills and review skills that I have already taught. The characters are entertaining and students enjoy the videos.
The students in my school have a very high poverty level.
All students in the school receive free breakfast and lunch. At times it is difficult to get them interested in learning. They like to think about other things that they would rather be doing. The students need a boost to keep them interested and focused on the lesson, that is being taught. The students stay focused on the Brain POP videos and enjoy watching them.
My Project
My students like the characters on Brain POP. The videos keep their interest and they stay focused on the topic. I use the videos to introduce new topics and review lessons that I have already taught. Each lesson has a quiz. The class can take the quiz on the Smart Board as an entire class activity or individually on the classroom computers. Brain POP also has interactive activities/games that the students enjoy. They are practicing skills and do not realize that they are working on an assignment.
This project will improve my classes by keeping the students interested in what they are learning.
The students will be introduced to new activities with Brain POP. They students will also be able to review materials that have already been taught.
