Could Ya' Speak Up There Sonny, I Couldn't Hear Ya'?

My students need an Infrared Classroom Audio System.

My students love to be taught and teach other students in the class, but some students speak so softly they cannot be heard by their peers. I teach the entire curriculum to fifth grade students in a school that has at least 60% of its students on free/reduced lunch.

Part of the learning experience for the student is being able to share what they have learned with their classmates. This is especially true for mathematics. Students can be shy or very soft spoken. Speaking into a microphone/audio enhancement system will allow those soft spoken students an opportunity to be heard by the entire class without having to repeat themselves multiple times. Sometimes I go home at the end of the day feeling like I have yelled all day. Our school has a portable system, but I can only use on a limited use basis, such as sharing a report on a President of the United States or famous explorer.

I need a system that has a head set for the teacher and a separate microphone for the students. This will need to be wireless so that students may pass the mic around the classroom. A microphone stand will be useful when students give presentations in the front of the classroom. The sound system will enhance student learning by allowing students to hear all of the thoughts, ideas, and solutions given by their peers. Regardless how well a teacher can teach, sometimes students who understand what the teacher is trying to teach can share the information in a way that a struggling student can also understand.

You will make it possible for my all of my students to be heard. As students get use the idea of using a microphone they will also get over the fear of standing in front of groups. This will only increase their self confidence and self esteem.
