My Students

If we expose our kids to books and interesting texts of all varieties, there is no way we can go wrong. I eagerly awaited my magazine subscriptions as a child, and I want to share that same enthusiasm with my students this year by sharing in a weekly reader together!

Our school is a great place to learn and teach.

We are all about the students and what they need to succeed. Our students are held to high standards and continue to be one of the highest performing group of students in the district year in and year out. We work hard so that every child can succeed!!

My Project

While much of our reading instruction has shifted to more small groups to meet more individual needs, I find it important for the group as a whole to read high engaging texts together. By using the weekly readers, my students will be able to interact with text, share their thinking with their peers, and learn to love reading to learn about the world around us.

These Time for Kids weekly readers are real-life reading.

It is a mirror image of a text we might pick up as an adult and discuss with our peers. Sharing this text with my students will make them healthy and knowledgeable information consumers!
