My students need headphones and a CD player and junction box for our classroom listening center.

My Students

My students participate in a workshop time each day, in which they can grow in their independence. A listening center would provide an alternate activity during this time.

My students are energetic and hard working.

Our school is like a family in which everyone works together to help each other accomplish goals. Parents, community members, and staff members work together in our school to help students grow socially and academically. In this way, we can help our students be the best they can be!

My Project

Students will use the listening center as an alternate activity during workshop time. By listening to books, they are able to access text that may be above their current reading level. This will allow them to increase their comprehension skills and work on their decoding skills, as they follow along. I was given several CD and Book sets, but currently do not have a way to play them for the students.

Using the listening center will allow my students to grow in their independence and offer them an alternative to reading alone, or needing to ask for help to read a text that they are not yet able to read.

This will increase their love of reading, and encourage them in their journey to becoming life-long learners.
