Welcome to my inner-city elementary School, a school that desperately needs a color guard. Why, you may ask? It is because these students have a great sense of rhythm and great potential; however, they lack the resources to be able to carry out their full potential.

This is the first year that color guard has started at inner city elementary school. We have snare drums but they are not marching band snare drums. We do not have a marching band bass drum nor tom toms. We, my students and I, are supposed to have a color guard/marching band but we have no equipment. This is our first opportunity to have a color guard that will eventually become a marching band, but it needs to start with the percussion. We need to have rhythm and if we are going to invest, then why not get good equipment?

Because we are supposed to have a color guard and yet we do not have any resources for marching band, this is a great opportunity to start our FIRST Panther School Color Guard and Marching Band. We need one marching band bass drum and carrier, two marching band snare drums and carriers, one marching band tom-tom and carrier, and marching band snare sticks.

This would be such a beneficial opportunity for all of you to support our FIRST School Color Guard and Marching band. This will give the students a chance to use their great rhythm, develop pride in themselves in who they are and competence in skill and who they can become as an individual and team. You all will make it possible for this to happen and for my students to have the opportunity to work as a team, play in a group, learn more challenging rhythms and perform in the opening of assemblies.
