A typical day in my classroom is busy! My classroom is made up 14 very different, but awesome students in a resource math and ELA classroom. By the end of this year, I want my students to make progress in math, but we do not have any math manipulatives to help assist their learning.
My students are awesome, all very different, but it makes our classroom an exciting place to learn.
Most of my students are visual-tactile learners meaning they have to see and touch to learn. Through the use of math manipulatives this would become a reality in my classroom!
My Project
My goal is to set up math centers within my classroom. So, ideally I will teach a lesson whole-group using our online math program, then in the 1-2 days following, students will complete related activities in center groups using the math manipulatives and other desired resources.

I am a first-year teacher and I was offered this position just a week before the start of the school year. My students currently do not have access to any math resources other than their workbooks and things that I can print off-line for them to use. It doesn't allow them to use their hands and senses to help them learn. By providing them with these tactile manipulatives and other resources, my students will be able to learn best.
