My students need dry erase dots for our tables. Studies have shown that middle school students are more apt to risk take and write down an answer on a dry erase board.

My Students

I am trying to promote a growth mindset in my room. This means that students feel willing to make mistakes and know that mistakes are a part of learning.

Students in my school come from diverse backgrounds.

Many of my students are English Language Learners and also come from low income families with little access to educational materials at home. Increasing engagement and interaction is a goal of mine to help my students grow.

My Project

Students will be able to use the dry erase dots to brainstorm, to answer quick check questions, to interact with a partner, and to be able to make mistakes in a safe environment that is easy to correct and erase as needed. Since the desks in my room are lab tables, we cannot write directly on the tables.

Having the dry erase accessible to them I feel will increase my student's interactions and also allow them to take academic risks in a safe way, that will help not only my ELLs but every student in my room.

Fostering a growth mindset in my students is a goal for my classroom this year.
