I currently teach 8th grade science and language arts in a high-needs area, on the south side of Chicago. Our school will become a technology-focused academy in the upcoming school year.

Students have had difficulty saving work in progress: floppy disks, email and various school computers create obstacles and are not always reliable or available. Flash drives will help organize all technology-based assignments in one handy, convenient place.

In order to organize planned technology projects, we will be needing flash drives to save student work. The last two years, students have completed career planning projects, which culminate with a power point presentation, but have had problems organizing the work because of lack of a systematic way to save work in one place. Flash drives will enable them to have a lasting reminder of their future plans. Flash drives will also help students save other planned technology projects such as science fair research papers and writing assignments.

You can make it possible for my students to increase pride in completed work, have a lasting reminder of career goals and projects to include in future portfolios. As we embark on this journey into becoming a technology-based academy, we are enlisting your help to make the transition easier. You can make a difference in helping us reach our educational goals.
