This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I believe that in order for students to learn, they must be able to engage in the learning with all of their senses.

The majority of my students are English language learners.

They depend on instruction that includes multiple modalities. Many of them are visual learners and rely on visual cues to support their understanding of the content. This means that they need to be able to see in order to understand.

My Project

I will use this easel during instruction to create visuals of the things that we are learning about. I will also create charts that we can keep all year long. My students will then have something to refer to when they look at a chart that we have created during a lesson. My students will also have access to the easel during the reading and math work times. They can easily reach stored content for instructional centers.

I will be able to create reference tools that my students can access all year long.

This will allow them to remember the skills we learned during instruction, thereby helping them get a better grasp of the content. Being able to access stored reading and math materials and create their own visuals will enable them to practice skills on their own.
