Making memories is a big part of attending school, especially in middle school where friendships are cemented and sports are started.
My students are 5th through 8th graders in a small, rural WV school.
They attend school together from pre-k to 8th grade before they go to high school and meet other students. We receive no money for supplies, even in classes like art and science that are hands-on.
My Project
We are asking for scrapbooks, scrap booking paper, scrap book accessories (beads, metal clips, etc) and glue. We are going to scrapbook our year so that we can put our memories on paper. We plan to include our own photographs of us in class, playing sport, winning awards, performing in plays, as well as our outside activities with our friends and families!
My class will be able to use their excellent "selfie" taking skills, along with our artistic abilities to create memory scrapbooks of our year.
This is something we want to work on throughout our middle school years so that when we leave, we can review our memories of school over and over. In a school as small and close knit as ours, this is an awesome project that covers every aspect of their school life!
