My Students

The human brain can learn in many ways. The best way to guarantee comprehension is to let students interact with the lessons in many ways. Students in my classroom are usually up and moving around and the traditional pencil and paper method of teaching just does not work for them.

The students at this school are curious and always seeking out something new and different.

The students in my classroom have disabilities that many people don't understand. However, this doesn't stop them from learning. They just need a little extra support and a lot of extra love. They need to learn a lesson using all of their senses and they need to have a connection to what they are learning. My students turn the world they live in into pictures in their heads. They feel more comfortable with categories and lists and having schedules written out in a way that is stable and predictable.

My Project

My students will use this interactive whiteboard in every one of their lessons. They can use it to sort and match and they can show that they're understanding by filling in graphic organizers. I will be able to present lessons in different ways for them and it will enable them to be directly engaged by participating in the lesson itself.

My project will change my students by bringing their lessons to them in a new way.

It will allow them to have direction in their lessons and be able to explore what they're learning. The whiteboard will also make it possible for them to express themselves to a group of people, something that they might not have had the opportunity to do before.
