"I teach all-day Junior Kindergarten in an inner-city Title I school. My students are four and five years old and for many of them this is their first school experience.
My students love to listen to books on tape at the Listening Center. The center is continually full and children are eager to have their turn. Unfortunately, two of our listening center headphones have broken so only two students at a time can listen to a book. In addition, our book on tape supply is limited so students listen to the same books repeatedly.
With new headphones and a new jack six students would be able to hear a story at once! New books on tape, related to our curriculum units, would give my students more exposure and access to key ideas in our Dinosaur, Nursery Rhyme and Nature units.
With your help the listening center will once again become the most popular place in our classroom. You will give my students the opportunity to hear more quality literature and make connections to curriculum content.
My students need a listening center and books on tape related to our curriculum.
The cost of this proposal is $521, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ."
