My school is a Title I school where over 90% of the students receive free or reduced lunches. As the librarian, I see all 700 students from Pre-K through 5th grade, and it is sometimes a challenge to get them engaged in their learning.

Our students test scores show that they have a difficult time mastering reference skills. Imagine their excitement when I announce that we are going to "Roll Out the Red Carpet" during our first research lesson.

For "Roll Out the Red Carpet," I need an Epson MovieMate. This piece of equipment is a DVD player and projector in one. It will allow students to show the project they have created on the BIG screen for all of their peers to see. Imagine their excitement when they see their research project bigger than life for all to view.

With your help, these students can become researchers and movie producers in one. Imagine the excitement of these students as they realize what learning has to offer. Who knows, we may be viewing their work at the theater one day thanks to this opportunity.
