I am a pre-kindergarten teacher in North Carolina. All of my students have been identified as "at risk" for not succeeding in school, and 100% of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch. The family of every student I work with lives below the poverty level.

Pre-kindergarten students learn a wide variety of skills through play. These skills help prepare the preschoolers to be successful in school. To get my students ready to write, I provide a range of activities that support fine motor development.

Moon sand is moldable sand that students can use to create a variety of sculptures with. As they are engaged in squeezing and molding this sand, my students will be strengthening the finger and hand muscles necessary for writing. In addition, the moon sand will encourage students' creativity as they create and sculpt with it. The variety of colors of moon sand requested will also support the students' color-recognition skills.

Your donation will make it possible for my students to develop fine motor skills and creativity, both of which are necessary for future school success!
