A Library Worth the Looking!

My students need 2 bookshelves to house our leveled books since space is running out and a color laser printer and cartridges to print book basket labels to help organize our class library.

Help me make my class library more organized and appealing to my students as my number one goal is to make my students lifelong readers! I teach 4th grade and teach in a school with a high percentage of different cultures and countries represented. We implement Reader's Workshop and it is imperative that our students read high interest, appropriate leveled books.

With approximately 45% of our students on free and reduced lunch, their own book collections are limited and I want to give my students a rich collection in which to choose.

I have many books and am always purchasing more through Ebay or Goodwill bookstores from my own pocket. The problem is my 13 bookshelves are full and I need a couple more. I use book baskets to organize them and make checkout easy for my students, but I also have run out of those. Since our school has only 2 running Color Printers, it is difficult to use them efficiently from my classroom to print my book basket labels. These labels are imperative in helping my students make their choices when it comes to books.

Your help will make it possible for my library to be appealing to my students and excite them as they see new shelves of books from which to choose. Money is tight all over, in fact, teachers in our district took a pay cut due to the current economic status. I usually spend my own as I did to purchase the books, shelves, and baskets so far. It would be wonderful to have some help in the future.
