"I am a 4th grade teacher at a Title 1 school. This is my second year teaching. I work with students who come from a low income families.

Imagine trying to teach students about states and foreign countries using a map that is outdated and very small. I do not have any wall maps in my room to use to help my students visually see the places we are studying; therefore, I rely on maps in encyclopedias. My students have a hard time seeing the physical features of states/countries we are studying. They also do not get a lot of practice using a map legend or scale. These are important skills 4th grade students have to learn.

We need a United States Wall Map and a World Wall Map. We also need 10 atlases to use during our Social Studies lessons. The students will be able to locate and identify different countries and their physical characteristics. Students will also use the maps to enhance their map skills.

Your help will make it possible for my students to actively participate in Social Studies lessons. It will give them the opportunity to increase their map skills.

My project needs a World Physical/Political Wall Map, a United States Physical/Political Wall Map, and 10 Classroom Explorer Atlases of the World. The cost of this proposal is $540, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ?."
