I teach marine biology to 11th grade students in Colorado and aim to help them learn about and care about the ocean environment. They will come to understand how humans effect the ocean environment and steps they can take to save our oceans.

High school students who live in Colorado have no understanding of how a fishery collapses. Many have never even seen an ocean. Students at our school already have a deep caring for the outdoors and river systems. I hope to transfer some of this interest to the ocean fisheries.

By engaging students in hands on labs, I hope to show them the effects of human pollutants on fisheries. We will also study ways students can get involved in reversing some of the damage done to ocean environments.

Do you care about the creatures that live in our oceans? So do I. Help me spread this concern to teenagers by helping me buy resources to educate and empower them.
