"I am a special education teacher at a High School in Brooklyn. Our school is very overcrowded and underfunded. Unfortunately the special education department has less resources than some of our general education counterparts. For example, we do not have a TV at our disposal. We have an excellent audiovisual library at our school - but no way to utilize it.
My students, more than any other department, with their multiple intelligences, need multimedia to stimulate and enrich their learning. This is why I am asking for a TV for our students. I am hoping that in addition to helping to educate my students through multimedia that this will also improve their feelings toward special education. Many of my students feel stigmatized by that label - and this feeling is compounded when they see that they do not have the same opportunities that other students do.
Thank you for taking the time to read this proposal. My students and I look forward to using this generous gift to improve their outlook and learning.
The cost of a Sharp 25 inch television is $310, including shipping and fulfillment .

Dear Gina & Michael, Christine and Jennifer,
Thank you so much for your amazing generosity! My students will be so thrilled to hear about this wonderful gift when we get back from Spring break. It has come at an ideal time as I have been hoping to show them the movie, Schindler's List, to coincide with the completion of the WWII autobiography we've just read, Night by Elie Wiesel. Again, I am so grateful for your kind donation.
Warmest regards,
Miss Karen B
