"Thank you for considering this proposal! I am the teacher of 21 eager Kindergarten students. Our school is a 4-Track K through 5 school. Our enrollment consists of 775 students, where 98.3% are English Language Learners and 100% are Socio-economically disadvantaged. This is my first year teaching Kindergarten, and so far it has been one of my greatest adventures in life.
The main goal in kindergarten is getting the students to love school. Kinder is the first step in their academic race. In kindergarten students must be submerged in reading, rhythms and patterns of literacy. Besides our core adopted reading program, I believe that it would be highly beneficial for my students to be exposed to many other reading experiences.
Beginning readers have an easier time
following the words while not having to deal with holding a book. Big books have big words and big pictures, so there is a high interest factor. I found a collections of big books that would be perfect for my students with key repetitive phrases to encourage speaking participation.
Help me integrate more literacy into my kinder program with this beautiful collection of Big books and Cd's. My students and I thank you for taking the time to read our proposal!
My students need a collection of Big Books along with their CD, including Alphabet Chants, Read-Along Nursery Rhymes, Read It! Sing It! Big Books and Listen, and Read & Rhyme with Dr. Seuss.

Dear Ms. Hadley, Jonathan, Michael Spiegelman, Jennifer from Los Angeles, A Friend, Pamela and Anonymous Donors,
Wow! Thank you so much! This is amazing! My students and I will absolutely love our new Big Book Library!
This will be and enormous enhancement to our daily Language Arts curriculum.
Rhyming is an important skill students will need to learn how to read and write and many of the books from this collection are rhyming stories and chants.
Thank you again for making this possible.
Reviewed the project essay and sent follow-up questions if needed.
