Inuit Printmaking

My project needs printmaking ink (water soluable non-toxic, printmaking foam and 200 sheets of printmaking paper.

I teach elementary art in a rural area of Michigan. I serve 550 students at two elementary schools. (K-4 grades) The population is diverse from a socioeconomic basis. The district is currently experiencing a budget crisis. I have very few supplies to work with.

My students love to learn about different cultures. They have also shown an interest in the topic of global warming in the Arctic Region. Therefore, I would like to teach them about Inuit art and at the same time research the current environmental science information on global warming.

In order to do this project in a "hands-on" manner, we will need printmaking supplies. We need printmaking foam, ink and paper.

Your support will allow my students to have a new window on the world. They will have a valuable opportunity to learn more about different cultures through art. They will learn about the science of the Arctic Region and global warming which will include a writing reflection piece on what they can do to make a difference.
