Field Ecology Kit for AP Environmental Science

My ecology project needs 1 complete Ecology Field Kit.

  • $1,116 goal

This is our school's first year with an AP Environmental Science class. Our school is a rural school that serves a student population from a lower socioeconomic status. The students complete the course and then take an exam offered by the College Board. If they pass, they can earn college credit for their work. This kit will help us get off to a great start.

We currently have nothing like this kit. Without it, our students won't have the Hands on learning opportunity that today's learner needs. We are requesting a Ecology Field Kit, which will include: For inland or marine waters. Includes necessary apparatus for investigating and collecting aquatic organisms and water sediment samples. All apparatus is made of durable, noncorrosive materials for stability and long life. Complete with instructions. Kit includes: Bottom-Sampling Dredge Sounding Lead and Calibrated Line 3-gal Collecting Bucket 5-gal Collecting Bucket Collecting Tray and Equipment Dip Net Forel-Ule Color Scale Plankton Net Sand/Mud Sieve Secchi Disk 4 × 20" Seine Water-Sampling Bottle Water Thermometer

I am asking for a Field Ecology Kit. This will allow our kids to do actual field work like they would in the real world in industry. Real life experiences will greatly benefit them as they prepare for the working world.

Your donation will give students from a rural area the opportunity to experience first hand how scientists in the field actually work. This experience will give them background knowledge they will apply in college.
