Every public high school student in America is required to know and respect the rights, liberties and history contained in the US Constitution. In order to further the study of the Constitution, there is a contest that ensures that the Constitution has a focused study by the next generation.
My students are working on the We The People Contest in our state.
It is our dream to be recognized as the team that can represent the We The People text and the US Constitution for the state of Florida. Our students are setting aside time out of their schedules to go above and beyond learning the basic requirements of the Constitution, and to also delve in to deeper meanings and philosophical issues of the Constitution. Students are working to master the fundamental questions of the Constitution and understand the Big Ideas of the Framers.
My Project
The books and the Constitution Quick Study guides will be exceptionally helpful to students to review the essential aspects of the Constitution. These students must be able to explain and elaborate on key guiding issues surrounding our government and landmark documents. Students will use these materials to create practice questions for the panel discussion that is required in this class and the highlight of this years We The People contest. These materials help students go beyond what is provided for them in the text and offer other perspectives on the fundamental issues in the Constitution. Snacks will help the students who stay after school and don't get home until after the dinner hour.
Learning the Constitution and the Bill of Rights is a fundamental goal for all public high schools to master.
We need our students engaged and ready for their role in the political arena and representative democracy. Your donation to this project will not only help these students be more successful, as high school seniors, but will help them compete in a national contest -We The People. You can make a difference with these students and impact their foundation as citizens in America.
