Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 900 or so students are excited about the art projects I share with them. I try to do interesting and creative thinking art projects with my classes always. My favorite quote is " the important thing is to create", which is impossible without the necessary materials.
My students are low income elementary students who have many family issues .
School provides an oasis of safety for these kids. They really love art and look forward to being able to express them selves in my class and my encouragement helps them to flourish,
My Project
We are requesting drawing paper and drawing materials. We do many assorted projects using basic white drawing paper and markers, including projects featuring lettering, pop art and also a school wide poster contest, based on the theme: "Peace on Earth". There are prizes for the winners, as well as a certificate. The students enjoys using markers in their art work and always request to use them. Th bold colors make some amazing, creative designs. Markers get used up quickly because I have around 900 children using them in a weekly project, so we really have a great need for them.
This donations will enable my kids to learn some new ways to use bold design and color, learn how to design lettering and create significant art work that our school can be proud of.
