My students need 6 copies and a teacher's guide for 6 popular book titles, including "Holes" and "Wrinkle in Time".

I am a teacher in a small rural community. The books that we have for students are old and outdated. Currently, we have no books that can truly capture the interest of a new, young reader.

With the growing demand for student performance there has been a push away from high quality texts. This drive has put students at a loss because they are no longer excited to read. They simply think of reading as work.

My hope is to get several books sets of high quality literature. I want students to read award-winning books in small groups and begin to understand again why reading can be so exciting. With this proposal, I will be able to start 6 award-winning literature circles.

Not only do students have to learn to read, but in order to be successful, they need to find a love for reading. I intend to bring back that love for reading with your help!
