Girls Math/Science Program

My students need a projector to use when making presentations.

This request is for a very special group of girls. I am the math specialist in an inner city school with over a 90% free lunch rate.

I have the opportunity to work with a group of 4th and 5th grade girls to challenge them to become better in math and science. Last year we were able to focus on engineering topics and even brought in some engineers as mentors. The girls were so excited that the first thing they asked we at the beginning of the year was when were we going to get started again. We have computers in the school but our technology is not up to date.

We try to tie our projects to real world situations. In the real work presentations are made with power point so with a projector the girls can learn power point for their presentations.

With your help we can give girls a change to excel and prove to others and themselves that they can be somebody. At last year's presentations one of my students stood up gave her name and then said "I am an engineer".
