Where's Roberg?: a Global Scavenger Hunt

My project needs 2 webcams.

Have you ever had a teacher travel the world and report back to you via webcam? Neither have my students... yet. I am a 9th and 10th grade Global History teacher in a small rural town. Most of my students are low- to medium- income students who have never been out the Northeast, much less out of the country. They are great kids, but far from worldly, and it's my job to expand their horizons.

I will be taking a 4 week trip to India, a 3 week trip to Israel, and a 3 week trip to China, and I want to share this experience with the students and teachers in my school! The problem is that there is no money in our budget to provide the webcams I need to conduct a video conference with my kids.

If this project is granted, kids throughout my school district, elementary through high school, will have the opportunity to follow my progress through each of the regions I'll visit and set up a video-conference with me while I'm there. I will even do a scavenger hunt for them if they do the research!

You can help me expand my students' horizons by allowing them to accompany me virtually on a trip of a lifetime. All we need your generosity and the technology to make it happen.
