Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Have you ever created anything with wire? Do you remember what it was like the first time you got your hands on paint and a paint brush? With your help my students can experience the joy quality art materials.
My students are 3-5 year old preschoolers.
They are a rambunctious 40 students that are excited about school and learning. They are on their way to becoming lifelong lovers of learning. They attend a Chicago Public School, we are one of the many low-income schools where a majority of our students receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch.
My Project
For some students Art is their motivation for coming to school and an area where they have success or excel, providing an important balance in their total educational experience. Part of the Curriculum is the use of quality materials. Art classes provide students a chance to develop cognitive and creative skills, and to develop their imaginations. Arts education strengthens student problem-solving and critical thinking skills, adding to overall academic achievement, and school success.
The students will learn how to express their creativity through Art by learning how to mix paints,the various textures of paint and the use of canvas to create quality and long lasting projects.
We are asking for wire, acrylic paint, canvas and paper.
Today more than ever the arts are needed by our young people as a forum for safe expression, communication, exploration, imagination, and cultural and historical understanding.
With the help of your donation my students will get to experience the exciting outcome of quality materials in the Art area.
