"My AP Economics students are a great bunch of kids that have been very charitable to their first-year economics teacher.
My teaching load here is mostly economics and AP economics. It is a senior-level class in a public high school in Oregon.
My students are motivated and have been working hard; however, economics textbooks don't make for the most exciting reading. My students are trying to learn some difficult topics at the AP (introductory college) level while living the schedules of involved high school students.
I want to reward the efforts of my students and help to foster their natural curiosities by supplementing their text with a recent book, "Naked Economics: Undressing the Dismal Science", about economics that is filled with current, relevant, and interesting applications to the theories that we've been struggling with. I envision setting aside time each couple of weeks for the students and myself to meet in small groups in the book club model to discuss portions of the book as we read it.
Your help will allow my students to view economics as a much more interesting and rich discipline than the textbooks provide for.
My students need 55 copies of the book Naked Economics: Undressing the Dismal Science to supplement our dry textbook.

Dear Seana, Kenley, Bryan, William, Bill, Cash4Books.net, Dan, Old Creek Wall Bed Factory, Adam, Kim and Anonymous Donor,
Thank you for funding our project. We begin a new term this week, and the students and I are all excited for the chance to break out from our textbook and interact with economic ideas in a more interesting and enriching way. This will provide a spark of renewed enthusiasm as the school year in gray western Oregon drags on. Thank you so much, Brett T
On May 27, 2008, Mr. T. followed this note with student letters sent via mail to the donor who completed this project, and to donors who gave $100 or more.

"Cash4Books.net is proud to be a continuous contributor to the many DonorsChoose.org projects that help students get the resources they need for their education. In doing so, we hope their lives are not only enriched by the knowledge acquired through books, but also that they develop a love for both reading and learning. It is a privilege to think we might somehow be making an impact on those who will one day be the leaders of tomorrow."
