"For the month of November, my Writing Workshop classes have been participating in the NaNoWriMo Project. NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. Every day, my juniors come to class and work diligently to write novels and to meet their word counts of 30,000 - 50,000 words. Since I am participating alongside of them, I know how much of a challenge it is to attempt to write a novel in a month, and I am both ashamed and proud to say that my students are doing better than I!

Since the students are writing novels this month, I feel as though I need to give them something tangible to remember this challenging and rewarding experience. They should be able to have something concrete to show their families, and potentially their own children some day. I want them to feel published and proud of what they've accomplished. Something so educationally positive rarely comes to my students.

Someone could help us publish these novels. I am asking for a book binder, and the supplies it would take to make concrete books out of their 50,000 words. Students will be more apt to revise their word into something spectacular if they know it will be published. I can't describe the look on my students faces if they would be able to literally publish their novel.

Please support this project. My students rarely receive the type of positive press that being a part of the NaNoWriMo project is giving them.
