"Students love to work and discover the workings of Earth!

I am a 4th grade teacher that works with students from a high-need area that loves to work with their hands and are excited about me teaching science to them. Students attend a title I school and any extra help or materials we can get would be very appreciated by my classroom of students, because they get excited over a pencil that is given to them.

My Students come into the classroom every morning and look up on the schedule to see if we are learning about science. When they see SCIENCE written on the board they get so excited and are so on task! They love doing hands on investigations on what makes something work or how its formed, and therefore I feel that the students would benefit from being able to learn and breathe science this year. After all, who doesn't remember more when it is something that they are interested in.

I have started my teaching of science off with the science processes, and they have touched, tasted and viewed many different objects, categorized objects, sorted etc. Now that they understand what it means to be a scientist, it would be a shame to just teach them through books and videos. That is why I would love to obtain this rock kit where they can make crystals, touch and observe minerals in there natural form and study rocks as they learn about earth and the way it forms and continues to change. This Rock kit has it all and will aid the teacher in many wonderful experiments and opportunities to study the rocks that are on the 4th grade core.

As a donor you will bless the lives of students that have the desire to learn and know about the world around them, that may never have this opportunity without someone like you reaching down into your heart and making a child's dream of advancing in a subject that will bring them the self-esteem that they can achieve in Science, and if in science then maybe in math and in reading also. This is where a student of low income but high dreams can be touched, and become a life long learner.

My students need a rocks and minerals set. The cost of this proposal is $495, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ?."

Dear Friends at the Eccles Foundation and Wells Fargo and Anonymous Donors,
Wow! Thank you so very much! My students and I truly love studying rocks and minerals! We have already did a lot with rocks but the samples I had were very limitied so with your help in giving my students the chance to learn will be very welcomed and I know that it will benefit the class as well as the classes to come in the future. Our scores have not been so great in the past when it comes to science I've been told and I look forward to allowing my students the opportunities to learn and grow in their science skills because of your generosity and caring for the students here at Sunset Elementary!
I am very grateful to you and all that you have given, it is a wonderful thing you have done here today!

Thank you
With much gratitude
Miss L and her cool cats!
